Popcorn Sales - A Moderate Success

This year's popcorn sales are done and we did OK - just not as good as last year. The final sales tally was $7,267 which results in a about $1,800 in income for the pack. Last year we sold just under $12,000 worth of popcorn and made over $4,000 for the pack.

We knew we probably wouldn't have the spectacular year like we had last year but we still came up $400 short of our budgeted projection. The most disappointing thing was that almost 25% of the boys sold no popcorn. Our goal was to raise $48 per boy - we just came up a bit short.

If you would like to make a donation to the Pack to help with this shortfall, you may give it either to our Cubmaster (Bob` Gershenfeld 972 317-8207) or our Treasurer Richard Hall ( 972 317-2864 )

Eleven Scouts Earn Their Webelos Badge

Tonight we are proud to have eleven scouts who have earned the rank of Webelos. The Advancing Scouts are:

Luke Attrell

Mark Auers

Nicholas Ballinger

Daniel Durett

Jeffrey Gershenfeld

Randall Hall

Ryan Hornung

Darren Jones

Jack Medellin

Brooks Robinson

Phillip Spencer

To earn the Webelos badge, a scout must earn at least Three Activity badges (including Fitness), complete a Religious requirement, Lead a flag ceremony and begin to learn the Ways of the Boy scouts.

Congratulations to these Scouts!

Dads and Lads Cakes to be Featured at the December Pack Meeting

Our annual Dads and Lads cake event will be held at the December Pack Meeting. Use your imagination and decorate a cake any way you'd like: any shape, color or size. Put any details on the cake you think will make your cake unique and bring it to the Pack Meeting. We'll have some judges there to determine winners in several categories such as Most Interesting or Best Creative Use of Frosting.

You can bake the cake yourself, get Mom to help or buy one from the store but remember: only the Scout and his Dad should decorate it. Whatever you do to decorate your cake, have fun doing it!

Checkers and Chess Tournament

January 11, 2003 is the date for the Tonkawa District Checkers and Chess Tournament. Boys compete against scouts their own age in timed games in a double elimination tournament. Everyone gets a patch and there will be prizes for the best players in each age group.

The tournament will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Lewisville from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Check in starts at 8:30). Pick up a form tonight or contact your Cubmaster
